Exciting news for fans of Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku! The manga, currently serialized in Ultra Jump by Shueisha, is getting a TV anime adaptation in 2025. The teaser visual, main staff, and cast details have just been unveiled.

The story follows Hana, a girl living on the small island of Tonarijima with a population of just 600 people. She joins the broadcasting club in high school, delving deeper into her love for reading aloud with her friends. This coming-of-age story, beautifully penned by rising author Monsieur and featuring the emotional growth of high school students depicted by Ayano Takeda (known for Sound! Euphonium), is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

To celebrate the anime adaptation, a teaser visual has been released. It shows Hana and Mizuki running along a seaside path with cherry blossoms swirling around them, perfectly capturing the essence of youth and new beginnings.

Additionally, the main cast has been announced. Mitoku Fujitera will voice Hana Haruyama, while Miyuri Shimabukuro will voice Mizuki Susuyori.

The main staff behind the anime has also been revealed. Ayumu Uwano will be directing, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, character design by Hikaru Aoto, and animation production by Studio Bind, known for their work on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.

In response to the anime announcement, original creators Ayano Takeda and Monsieur shared celebratory comments and illustrations. Mitoku Fujitera, Miyuri Shimabukuro, and director Ayumu Uwano also expressed their excitement and dedication, which have been posted on the official website and social media.

Takeda commented, “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far! We hope even more people will read and enjoy Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku. The story has many scenes focusing on voice, making the voice actors’ performances crucial. As a viewer, I can’t wait to hear the live readings in the anime.”

Fujitera, who will voice Hana, said, “I was shocked and thrilled to hear I got the role. Being part of such a wonderful project is an honor, and I’m very motivated to give it my all. As a high schooler myself, I found many relatable moments in the original manga. I’ll do my best alongside Hana as she grows through her broadcasting club activities.”

Shimabukuro, voicing Mizuki, added, “For me, high school was full of bittersweet memories I often try to forget. However, when I read Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku, the realistic depiction of broadcasting scripts brought those memories flooding back. I’ll confront my past and work hard to bring Mizuki’s bright, sunny character to life. I’m looking forward to it!”
