The manga Gachiakuta, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, is getting a TV anime adaptation in 2025! The adaptation will be produced by the renowned animation studio BONES.
To celebrate this exciting news, a kickoff visual and Promotional Video have been released. The original creators, Kei Urana (manga) and Hideyoshi Ando (graffiti design), also shared celebratory illustrations and comments.
About Gachiakuta
Gachiakuta is a manga series written by Kei Urana with graffiti design by Hideyoshi Ando, and it began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2022. The story follows Rudo, an orphaned boy born in a slum inhabited by descendants of criminals, navigating a world filled with intense battles and action. The series won the Global Special Award in the comics division of the "Next Manga Award 2022".
The unique blend of graffiti art, thanks to Ando's collaboration, adds an exciting visual flair to the series, making it stand out.
The Anime Adaptation
The TV anime will be directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, known for his work on The Eccentric Family, SHIROBAKO, and THE FIRST SLAM DUNK. The animation will be handled by BONES, the studio behind Eureka Seven, My Hero Academia, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
The series composition will be overseen by Hiroshi Seko, famous for Attack on Titan: The Final Season and WIND BREAKER. Satoshi Ishino, known for A.I.C.O. Incarnation and Godzilla S.P, will be the character designer and chief animation director.
Kickoff Visual and PV
The newly revealed kickoff visual features Rudo falling into the abyss, accompanied by the tagline, "The world will change. All conventions will be overturned." This ominous vibe stirs anticipation for what's to come. The kickoff PV showcases a stunning blend of original manga art, anime settings, and Ando's graffiti art, creating a breathtaking visual experience.

With the announcement of the TV anime, comments and illustrations from the original creator Kei Urana and graffiti designer Hideyoshi Ando have been shared. Additionally, comments from director Fumihiko Suganuma, series composer Hiroshi Seko, and character designer Satoshi Ishino have been released.
Anime Expo 2024 Panel
Excitingly, a panel event for Gachi Akuta will be held at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles. The event will feature discussions with BONES' producers, Avex's producers, and Kodansha's editorial team, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the anime's production. Exclusive original goods will be distributed to attendees.
