Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc Episode 6 Highlights Genya’s Growth, Featuring Ryusei Nakao as Kasugai Crow

Episode 6 of the new "Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc," titled "The Strongest of the Demon Slayer Corps," aired on June 16 and showcased notable changes in Genya Shinazugawa, sparking discussion online.

"Demon Slayer," based on Koyoharu Gotouge's manga, has sold over 150 million copies across 23 volumes. The anime series, produced by ufotable, follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. To save his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a demon, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps and battles demons. Since its premiere in April 2019, the series has covered arcs including "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve," "Mugen Train," "Entertainment District," and "Swordsmith Village." The "Mugen Train" movie, released in October 2020, grossed approximately 51.7 billion yen worldwide.

In Episode 5, titled "I Even Ate Demons...," Tanjiro finished training with Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro, and moved on to Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa’s dojo. The episode highlighted the interactions between Sanemi and his brother Genya, capturing viewers' attention.

Episode 6 sees Tanjiro heading to Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima’s training site in the mountains, accompanied by Zenitsu Agatsuma. There, they find Inosuke Hashibira and Murata. Despite the rigorous training, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Murata’s efforts prompted comments online about their growth, with fans noting Zenitsu’s resilience and the camaraderie of the "Kamaboko Squad."

Genya’s transformation since the beginning of the story was particularly noteworthy. Initially uncommunicative, Genya now offers advice to Tanjiro during their training, earning praise from fans who remarked on his development and credited Tanjiro for the positive change.

Episode 7 will air on June 23, followed by a 40-minute special for the finale on June 30.
