The anime Baban Baban Ban Vampire is set to air from January 2025 on TV Asahi’s new IMAnimation slot, broadcasting nationwide on 24 channels. Along with this exciting news, a teaser visual and trailer have been released. It’s also been announced that Daisuke Namikawa will voice Ranmaru Mori and Yusuke Kobayashi will voice Rito Tachino. Both actors have shared their thoughts on the roles.
Baban Baban Ban Vampire is a “bloody love comedy” manga by Hiromasa Okujima, serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Champion. The story follows Ranmaru Mori, a 450-year-old vampire working at a public bathhouse. He’s on a quest for the ultimate delicacy, the blood of an 18-year-old virgin, and keeps a close eye on Rito Tachino, the 15-year-old son of the bathhouse owner. The plot thickens when Rito falls for a classmate, leading to a hilarious and heartwarming story of mixed signals and nocturnal adventures.
The anime will start airing in January 2025 on TV Asahi’s “IMAnimation” slot, broadcasting nationwide on 24 channels. The teaser visual depicts the handsome vampire Ranmaru in a bathhouse cleaning outfit, staying true to the cover of the first manga volume. The trailer gives us a first listen to Namikawa’s portrayal of Ranmaru, blending the vampire world with the unique setting of a public bathhouse.
Daisuke Namikawa commented, “My first impression of the original work was that it’s a very unique and captivating story. The characters each have strong personalities, and watching them grow as a team is truly fascinating.” Yusuke Kobayashi added, “It's a compelling series that focuses on the often negatively viewed ‘ego’ and ‘egotist’ in the context of team sports. The characters' struggles and growth are depicted with such intensity that I found myself eagerly following the latest chapters.”
