The original anime film "Anthem of Moments" has just released the music video for 'Before Dawn,' sung by Yu Oriomo (vocal artist: Kei Sugawara), crafted by the protagonist Kanata Asaya at the climax of the film.
Created in collaboration between the digital animation studio "100studio" and the visual production team "Hurray!"—famous for their music videos for Yorushika and the ending visuals of the anime "She Isn't Just Cute"—"Anthem of Moments" explores the creative passions of Kanata Asaya. A high school boy dedicated to music video production, Kanata is moved to create a video after encountering a street performance. The twist? The performer is Yu Oriomo, a female teacher who had abandoned her musical dreams.
The narrative captures their poignant encounter, delving into the highs and lows of creative endeavors. The script is written by Toshiaki Hanada, renowned for "Love Live!" and "A Place Further Than the Universe," with the Hurray! team—consisting of Popurika, Ohajiki, and Magotsuki—handling nearly all visual aspects. The cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Kanata Asaya and Mariya Ise as Yu Oriomo, supported by Yūma Uchida as Daisuke Sotosaki and Kazuka Izumi as Moe Nakagawa.
Vocaloid producer VIVI oversees the music, with singing by Kei Sugawara, a rising star featured on Spotify's "RADAR: Early Noise 2022." Sugawara brings Oriomo's emotional depth to life with her unique androgynous voice.
The movie debuted to rave reviews, securing the second spot in Filmarks' opening day satisfaction ratings, and continues to attract attention. The song 'Before Dawn' plays a pivotal role in the film, being the 100th track Oriomo composed before stepping back from music, and it inspires Kanata to fervently pursue creating its music video. This song symbolizes both an apex and a new beginning in their collaborative journey.
"Anthem of Moments" is screening nationwide, striking a chord with active creators pursuing their dreams and those who have once set aside their creative aspirations.
