The latest movie, My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You're Next, is set to hit theaters on August 2. Exciting news - the theme song, titled "Homunculus," has been written by none other than Vaundy, an young artist who is also a huge fan of the series. Alongside this announcement, a thrilling new trailer has been released.
The fourth installment of the My Hero Academia movie series will be released on August 2, 2024. The theme song, "Homunculus," penned by Vaundy, has been specially crafted for this film. The latest trailer showcases the intense developments that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
For those who might not know, My Hero Academia, started its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump back in July 2014. The manga, created by Kohei Horikoshi, has sold over 100 million copies across 40 volumes. The latest season of the TV anime, season 7, began airing in May this year.
The movie series has been a hit since the first film, My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Two Heroes, premiered in August 2018. It was followed by My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: Heroes Rising in December 2019, and My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission in August 2021. Now, after three years, the highly anticipated You're Next is finally coming to the big screen.
Vaundy, who is also a dedicated HeroAca fan, shared his thoughts on creating "Homunculus": "I remember grappling with the question of what my own 'quirk' is while making this song. I thought about how to cheer on the characters of HeroAca and tried to infuse my answer into the music." He added, "Being able to contribute to a series I love so much is an honor. This project has become a significant milestone in my musical journey."
The new trailer, featuring the 90-second preview with "Homunculus," is also out now. It begins with a message from All Might, followed by scenes of Deku and friends facing a mysterious new threat. The trailer also teases the intriguing character of Anna, whose quirk is yet to be fully understood, and Julio's challenging words, "You have no idea what kind of quirk the young lady possesses."
The second half of the trailer is packed with action, as Deku’s line, "Next, it's our turn," cues the epic showdown between Class A and the pro heroes against Dark Might. It's a heart-pounding spectacle that promises to keep fans glued to the screen.
