A sequel to the TV anime has been officially announced, accompanied by a new key visual and PV. Additionally, new projects such as Fairy Tale Revengers and the 2025 anime's 5th anniversary project have also been announced.
Tokyo Revengers is a time-travel suspense manga by Ken Wakui, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2017 to 2022, and winner of the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shonen category. The story follows former delinquent Takemichi Hanagaki, who time-leaps back to his middle school years to save his only girlfriend and take revenge on his life. The series has expanded into a multi-media franchise with live-action films, stage plays, and more.
The announcement was made during the Tokyo Revengers Special Event: Love Dream Surrender 4th Anniversary & Formation Celebration Event 'Matsudo Touring' on June 16. The key visual shows an injured Takemichi and Mikey, and the PV highlights memorable scenes from previous seasons, hinting at the start of a new revenge story.
The event also announced the 5th anniversary project of the anime, celebrating its broadcast start in 2025. The first part of the project will be a character image song live event, "Friendship Live," on February 2, 2025, at Pacifico Yokohama.
Before that, on October 23, a CD titled "Tokyo Revengers' Duet EP 01" will be released, featuring character image songs sung in pairs. The CD will include a priority application ticket for the live event, making it a must-have for fans. Details about the second part of the 5th anniversary project will be announced later.
Additionally, a new project called "Fairy Tale Revengers" has been announced, which will mini-animate fairy tales in the "Tokyo Revengers" style. The first story, "Momotaro," is scheduled for release soon, with more stories to be announced.
In other news, June 19 has been officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association as "Tokyo Revengers Tokyo Manji Gang Formation Day." Author Ken Wakui commented, "I am very happy that we can all celebrate the Tokyo Manji Gang's anniversary together! Please continue to support Tokyo Revengers!!"
With the sequel and new projects in the works, "Tokyo Revengers" continues to gain momentum. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
