The final episodes of the "Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc" are getting extended broadcasts! Episode 7 will air for 40 minutes, and the finale, Episode 8, will air for 60 minutes. Additionally, a special screening event will be held on June 30 to celebrate the final episode's broadcast, with new Blu-ray & DVD Volume 3 details also revealed.
"Demon Slayer," based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, published by Shueisha’s Jump Comics, has over 150 million copies in circulation. The anime follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. To save his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a demon, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps. The anime, produced by ufotable, began with "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc" in April 2019 and continues to captivate audiences worldwide. The latest "Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc" started airing in May 2024.
In the "Hashira Training Arc," it was announced during a commercial break after Episode 6 on June 16 that Episodes 7 and 8 would be extended broadcasts. Episode 7 will air for 40 minutes and Episode 8 for 60 minutes on the nationwide Fuji TV network.
To commemorate the final episode’s broadcast, a special screening event will be held on June 30. The event will feature both Episodes 7 and 8, followed by a talk stage. The talk stage will also be live-streamed for free on Aniplex's official YouTube channel to allow more fans to enjoy the event. Tickets for the screening event will be available for pre-order through a lottery starting at midnight on June 23, with the talk stage participants to be announced.
Furthermore, it has been announced that the "Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc" Blu-ray & DVD Volume 3 will be released on September 4. It will feature cover art by character designer Akira Matsushima and include footage from the stage greetings held in Paris, London, Taipei, and Hong Kong in February 2024, along with other special features.
