The third season of the anime Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World will be broadcast in two parts: the Attack Arc with 8 episodes and the Counterattack Arc with 8 episodes. The Attack Arc will kick off with a special 90-minute episode starting on October 2nd (Wednesday). The Counterattack Arc is scheduled to begin on February 5th, 2025. Alongside this announcement, the second main trailer has been released. The newly released second trailer introduces some new characters and also features the debut of the ending theme song.

Additionally, the character visuals for a new character, Capella Emerada Lugunica, who will appear from the third season, have been released. Capella is voiced by Aoi Yūki. Capella Emerada Lugunica, a member of the Witch Cult's archbishops representing the sin of lust, is a girl with golden hair and crimson eyes. She shares her name with a member of the Lugnica royal family who existed over fifty years ago. Capella is known for her cruel nature and vulgar speech, treating human dignity and values with utter contempt.

Aoi Yūki's Comment (translated):

"I'm thrilled to have been called upon for the infamous Re:Zero! I was excited to see what kind of cute character I would be playing as I flipped through the script, but it turned out to be an incredible character. No matter how much you might like Capella, I'm playing her in a way that will surely frustrate you, so please try to bear with her and love her with patience. Capella's splendid trampling, you unfortunate souls, look forward to it!"

To commemorate the unveiling of this new character, a visual featuring the assembly of the archbishops of sin has also been released. These characters will play significant roles in the third season.
