It's official! The new original anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance" will start its global exclusive streaming on Netflix from October 17, 2024. Alongside this announcement, the main visual and the official trailer were unveiled for the first time. Additionally, the new mobile suit piloted by the protagonist has also been revealed.
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance" is a new original anime series for global distribution, focusing on the European front during the One Year War, the setting of the first "Mobile Suit Gundam" series. This six-episode series, each lasting 30 minutes, is a collaboration between SAFEHOUSE and Bandai Namco Filmworks, produced using Unreal Engine 5.
The screenplay is penned by Gavin Highnight, known for his work on the anime "Tekken: Bloodline," "Transformers: Cyberverse," and the game "Marvel's Spider-Man." The series is directed by Erasmus Brosdau, who has worked on "Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness," the game "Star Citizen," "Ryse: Son of Rome," and the "Crysis" series.
This exciting news was announced at Comic-Con International: San Diego, currently held in California. The newly unveiled main visual features the protagonist Solari, members of the Red Wolf squad, and newly introduced characters, with the silhouette of a new "Zaku" in the background.
The trailer kicks off with the events occurring 11 months after the start of the One Year War in the Universal Century 0079. It showcases intense battle scenes involving the Red Wolf squad's Zaku II, standing against the "White Devil," alongside familiar machines like the Gouf and Zaku Tank, and new appearances such as the Jim and Gun Tank.
The trailer also introduces Solari's new mobile suit, featuring impressive lines that signify her resolve. What lies ahead for Solari? With jaw-dropping developments and a storyline that exceeds expectations, it's impossible to look away.
In addition, the main visual and trailer introduced Solari's new mobile suit, the "Unidentified Type Zaku II (Solari Machine)," with concept art also arriving. The main visual and trailer reveal various other characters and mobile suits, promising more exciting updates to come.
In celebration of this series' release, Bandai Namco Entertainment America and Look North World have teamed up to introduce a unique "Requiem for Vengeance" island in "Fortnite" through Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
Moreover, a completed action figure of Solari's "Unidentified Type Zaku (English name: ZAKU II (Unidentified Type))" from "GUNDAM UNIVERSE" will also be released, further heightening anticipation for the series.
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance" will be exclusively streamed worldwide on Netflix starting Thursday, October 17, 2024.
