The groundbreaking full-CGI film "One Piece: Straw Hat Chase" will make its terrestrial TV debut on Tokyo MX this August 4th. This film is part of the beloved One Piece franchise, which continues to captivate audiences with tales of adventure and camaraderie on the high seas.
Since its debut in 1997, the manga has soared in popularity, leading to a continuously successful anime series that started in 1999. As the manga celebrated its 25th anniversary in July 2022, the anime is gearing up for its own 25th anniversary in October 2024. The series has expanded into an extensive range of media and merchandise, keeping fans engaged with regular events and new releases.
The story of "One Piece: Straw Hat Chase," which first hit theaters in 2011, begins with a mysterious incident: Luffy’s cherished straw hat vanishes overnight. This hat isn't just any piece of headwear; it's a memento from "Red-Haired Shanks," the legendary pirate who inspired Luffy's quest. The search heats up when the crew spots an eagle with the missing hat. Meanwhile, Usopp and Chopper come across an old pirate named Schneider on a drifting ship, who reveals an unexpected story about the hat.
This film, celebrated as the series' first full-CGI endeavor, takes viewers on a visually stunning journey. As the Straw Hats chase the eagle through the skies, they navigate the treacherous waters of the Grand Line, facing challenges, including a looming Marine base. The big question remains: Can the Straw Hat Crew recover their iconic hat?
