NEWS: Great news for all “Kaiju No. 8” fans! The official X account announced after the June 8th broadcast that a new project for the anime “Kaiju No. 8” is in the works. For those unfamiliar, “Kaiju No. 8” is based on the manga serialized in “Shonen Jump+” (Shueisha). The TV anime has been airing since April 13, 2024.
The story follows Kafka Hibino, who worked in a kaiju cleanup crew before mysteriously transforming into a powerful kaiju himself. Named Kaiju No. 8, he faces many challenges while clinging to his dream of joining the Defense Force and battling kaiju disasters.
In Episode 9, titled “Tachikawa Base Assault,” which aired on June 8, the search for the human-mimicking Kaiju No. 9 continues. Suddenly, a swarm of kaiju attacks the Minna Ashiro-less Tachikawa Base. The leader of these usually solitary pterosaur-like kaiju is a new “great kaiju” that understands human language and shows intelligence. This kaiju, seemingly enjoying the fight, targets the strongest soldier present – Soshiro Hoshina.
Following this exciting episode, the official X account dropped a bombshell: “New ‘Kaiju No. 8’ Project to be Revealed on Saturday, June 15th at 11 PM after Episode 10 airs.” They’ve even launched a new official X account and website for the project, complete with a countdown!
Naturally, the internet is buzzing with speculation and excitement. Comments range from “Is a movie coming?” to “I’m so excited, can’t wait!” The use of a game controller emoji in the announcement has sparked further theories: “Is it a game?” “Maybe an app game?” “A fighting game, perhaps?”
