The dark ninja hero anime "NINJA KAMUI" will begin airing on July 1 at 24:00. Directed by Sunghoo Park, known for his work on "Jujutsu Kaisen," and produced by E&H production, the series has already caused a sensation overseas. "NINJA KAMUI" follows the story of Higan, an ex-ninja who seeks revenge against his former organization and the dark forces of the state after his beloved family is killed. The series features an original storyline with Higan fighting his way through various adversaries. The show boasts an impressive staff lineup, including character designer Takashi Okazaki from "Ninja Batman" and series composer Shigeru Murakoshi from "Zombie Land Saga."

Having premiered in North America in February 2024, "NINJA KAMUI" has received high praise for its quality from cultural sites across the U.S. It became a major hit on Cartoon Network, one of the world’s largest anime channels.

For its highly anticipated Japanese release, Kenjiro Tsuda voices the protagonist Higan, a character who returns from the brink of death with a burning desire for revenge. Tsuda, who has also made a name for himself as an actor, masterfully portrays Higan's complex emotions of anger and sorrow. Yuichi Nakamura, known for his roles in "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Osomatsu-san," voices Zai, Higan’s former friend turned feared “Reaper.”

The cast also includes Atsushi Ono as Mike Morris, Yuki Wakai as Emma Samanda, Yuriko Hino as Mari, Arata Kimura as Ren, Ryohei Kimura as Joseph, Setsuji Sato as Lil, Romi Park as Jiri, Kosuke Sakaki as Big D, Kazuhiko Inoue as Yamaji, and Takashi Nagasako as Jason. The theme song, "VENGEANCE," is performed by coldrain, a Japanese rock band known internationally. Both Tsuda and Nakamura, along with coldrain's Masato, have shared their comments on the project.

The trailer, released ahead of the broadcast, showcases Higan’s journey of vengeance, with scenes of his peaceful life with wife Mari and son Ren being shattered, leading him to don a mask and seek retribution. Other scenes include a burning victim hanging upside down, FBI agents Mike and Emma investigating ninja incidents, and Higan slashing through enemies with a katana, culminating in a dramatic confrontation with his former leader Yamaji.

"NINJA KAMUI," a dark hero anime about an ex-ninja taking on a corrupt organization and state, will premiere on July 1 at 24:00. Don't miss this high-quality original story set to make waves in Japan.

"NINJA KAMUI" airs from July 1 (Monday) at 24:00 on TOKYO MX!
