“Guilty Gear” Series Gets Its First TV Anime Adaptation! Animated by S – Nippon Figures

It's official! The "Guilty Gear" series is getting its first TV anime adaptation titled "GUILTY GEAR STRIVE: DUAL RULERS." The anime will be produced by SANZIGEN, and the announcement was accompanied by a teaser visual.

The "Guilty Gear" series, developed by Arc System Works, debuted in 1998 as a fast-paced fighting game featuring superhuman battles with a distinct anime aesthetic. Known for its unique characters and dynamic combat, the series has continued to evolve, with the latest installment, "GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-," boasting over 2.5 million users worldwide.

"GUILTY GEAR STRIVE: DUAL RULERS" marks the series' exciting foray into TV anime. The teaser visual showcases iconic characters Sol Badguy and Sin Kiske, with a mysterious girl in the background, hinting at a new storyline from "GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-."

SANZIGEN, known for their extensive work in CG animation and the original music video for Sol Badguy's theme "Find Your One Way" from "GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-," will handle the animation. The series will be directed by Shigeru Morikawa, who helmed the "Argonavis AXIA" films. Norimitsu Kaiho, a veteran in writing scenarios for the "Guilty Gear" series, will pen the script. Additionally, Seiji Mizushima, renowned for his work on the "Mobile Suit Gundam 00" and "Fullmetal Alchemist" series, will serve as an associate producer.

Fans can look forward to a special stage event at "Anime Expo 2024" in Los Angeles from July 4 to July 7. The event will feature a panel session with scriptwriter Norimitsu Kaiho, associate producer Seiji Mizushima, and "GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-" producer Ken Miyauchi. The panel will be live-streamed on the official Twitch channel of Arc System Works America, offering fans around the world a chance to get the latest updates on the anime.
