The collaboration music video between Haikyuu!! and SPYAIR, featuring the theme song "Orange" from the movie Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle, premiered on the official Shueisha Jump YouTube channel on August 19th, celebrated as Haikyuu!! Day.
Haikyuu!!, a youth volleyball manga by Haruichi Furudate, was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020. Set in Miyagi Prefecture, it follows Shoyo Hinata, a high school volleyball player at Karasuno High School, who aims to surpass the legendary tiny giant, a former star of the team, and grows through rigorous practice and matches with his teammates, including the genius setter Tobio Kageyama.
The manga series concluded after 45 volumes, surpassing 60 million copies in circulation, and inspired an anime series that began airing in 2014. In 2024, the first part of the movie series Haikyuu!!, titled The Dumpster Battle, was released. On this special occasion, the collaboration music video for "Orange," the theme song by SPYAIR for the movie, was launched on Haikyuu!! Day, August 19th, on the Jump official YouTube channel. This video marks the 24th installment of the JUMP Music Video series, a project featuring collaborations between Weekly Shonen Jump titles and artists from Sony Music Group.
SPYAIR, well-known for their work with the Haikyuu!! anime, has produced several memorable songs for the series. They created the opening theme "Imagination" for the first season in 2014, "I'm A Believer" for the second season in 2015, and "One Day" for the fourth season in 2020. "Orange" was specially made for the movie's theme and has recently surpassed 100 million streams, a first for the band. The music video features original manga panels from "The Dumpster Battle," allowing fans to experience the emotional highs of the Karasuno vs. Nekoma match once more.
