The much-anticipated special edition of "anan" magazine, featuring a stunning new illustration of Sakura Kinomoto from "Cardcaptor Sakura," is now available! The "2024/06/26 No.2402 Special Edition" hit the shelves on June 19th and is already creating a buzz among fans.
"Cardcaptor Sakura," a beloved manga by the creative group CLAMP, was serialized in the monthly shoujo manga magazine "Nakayoshi" from 1996 to 2000. The story follows Sakura Kinomoto, a young girl who takes on the role of a "Cardcaptor" to retrieve the mystical Clow Cards that threaten to bring disaster to the world. The manga was adapted into an anime series by NHK from 1998 to 2000, with the first two seasons covering the "Clow Card Arc" and the third season focusing on the "Sakura Card Arc."
In 2016, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series, a new chapter titled "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc" began serialization after a 16-year hiatus. By 2021, the series celebrated its 25th anniversary, leading to the release of numerous related merchandise. The "Clear Card Arc" concluded after a seven-and-a-half-year run in 2023, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the anime adaptation. The excitement around "Cardcaptor Sakura" continues, with a new anime sequel for the "Clear Card Arc" already in production.
The latest edition of "anan" magazine showcases a freshly illustrated cover of Sakura Kinomoto by CLAMP, just in time for the upcoming "CLAMP Exhibition," which will be held at the National Art Center in Roppongi, Tokyo, starting July 3rd. This marks the first new illustration of Sakura since the conclusion of the "Clear Card Arc," making it a must-have for fans. The magazine also features horoscopes for the latter half of 2024 and includes a special segment titled "Special illustration for anan CLAMP Special Edition Cover Art."
